Every year when the winter arrives and the temperature drops, people take several measures to deal with the cold weather: they warm their houses, wear warm clothes, use blankets, and eat hot foods such as soups. Animals also know how to deal with the cold weather, only in  different ways than people do.

Animals such as bears go into full hibernation mode. They sleep during the winter’s months and do not get up at all. To do that they eat a lot before the winter to accumulate fat which provides them energy during the months they sleep.

Other creatures, such as snakes, generally hide in trees’ holes or under leaves. In addition, animals, such as mice usually stay close to each other and keep being active to save their body temperature.

Another phenomenon of dealing with the cold weather among animals is migration. We all know that birds migrate to warm places when the temperatures drop but did you know that whales and other sea creatures also migrate and swim to warmer waters when the winter arrives? Well, now you know!
